Welcome to the Homepage of Khaqan Majeed

Here you can learn about me and my research work.

Currently, I am a PhD Scholar, Research Assistant, and Teaching Assistant in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at McMaster University, Hamilton, ON, Canada.  My PhD research is related to indoor localization using visible light.  I am pursuing my PhD under the mentorship of Dr. Steve Hranilovic.  Before joining the PhD program, I was a Lab Instructor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU), Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia till May, 2016.  I completed the MS degree in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia in May, 2014 and the BSc degree (First Division with Honors) in Electrical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, Pakistan in Aug, 2009.  Further details can be found in my Profile.
I completed my MS Thesis under the mentorship of Dr. Sameh O. Sorour (Ph.D. University of Toronto) and Dr. Tareq Y. Al-Naffouri (Ph.D. Stanford University).  My MS research work focused on the problem of indoor localization.  The Received Signal Strength (RSS) from Wi-Fi Access Points (APs) is employed to localize users in an indoor area.  Unsupervised Manifold Alignment (UMA) with geometry perturbation is used to tackle this problem.  Please visit Research and Publications for further details on my research work.
